Smalls fills a pair of rustic three-storey shophouses on Suan Phlu Soi 1 in Sathorn. The ground floor is a dimly lit bar with exposed brickwork, vintage furniture, and contemporary art on the walls. Each level has its own energy: the middle floor is quieter with nooks for smaller groups, and the roof terrace on top has its own bar and a view over the neighborhood. The music leans toward quality vinyl and live DJ sets. No sign outside. You find it or you walk past it.
The ground floor is where the main bar sits, and the crowd builds from around 21:00. The decor has a Parisian dive bar quality to it: worn furniture, low lighting, art that rotates on the walls. The drinks are straightforward and well-made, with a cocktail list that covers the classics and a selection of wines and beers.
The roof terrace is the draw on warm nights. It has its own bar and enough space to spread out. The food menu is simple bar food done properly. The venue has been running since 2014 and has built a loyal local following in the Suan Phlu neighborhood.
